ACCOMMODATIONS - WHERE DO WE STAY ON TOUR?
Good accommodations help make a great ride.
After a long day in the saddle, we’re all looking for a hot shower, a warm meal, and a comfortable place to layover.
Our motorcycle tour guides scout every route for the best available options. Historically, we have used hotels, lodges, cabins and hot springs to ensure our guests have a wonderful experience.
As a point of reference, here are a couple of places we’ve stayed.
DISTANCE - HOW FAR DO WE RIDE EACH DAY?
A typical day on an adv tour will be between 100 and 200 miles.

Participants should expect to spend between 6-8 hours on their bike each day.
Breaks and pit stops are a part of each day. Everybody loves a chance to snap a photo or two, discuss the ride and take in their surroundings.
DURATION - HOW LONG ARE THE ADV BIKE TOURS?
Most of our guided adventure motorcycle tours are between 5 & 7 days.

However, we can customize most off road motorcycle adventure tours to your liking. For instance, we offer 1-day rides in beautiful Central Oregon, all the time.
DIFFICULTY - HOW HARD ARE ADVENTURE MOTORCYCLE TOURS?
A lot of factors determine how difficult a given day or route are.
- Rider skill & experience
- Terrain
- Weather

For instance, the COBDR difficulty is rated fairly high because of the numerous mountain passes you will climb and descend in Colorado. Again, many variables compose the difficulty of a given route.
Below, is how we would rate each BDR by degree of difficulty (starting with most difficult):
- CABDR
- AZBDR
- UTBDR
- COBDR
- WABDR
- NMBDR
- IDBDR
- MABDR
- ORBDR
A typical motorcycle adventure consists of some pavement (as little as possible) and:
- Dirt roads
- Gravel roads
- Rocks
- Mud
- Climbs
- Descents
- Sand
THE ELEMENTS - WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

We work hard to offer the best motorcycle tours in USA. And, we try to plan for every scenario of circumstance.
Unfortunately, the weather tends to have a mind of its own. We cannot control mother nature. If we could, every ride would be under blue skies, have mild temps, and be dust-free.
Nevertheless, come prepared to ride in all weather conditions. If you have questions about what the appropriate gear might be, make sure to ask us.
Also, look to be open-minded. Snowfall, severe weather and road closures might force us to reroute here & there. It’s all part of the adventure!
FOOD - HOW’S THE CUISINE?
Traditional American comfort food.
Not unlike accommodations, our guides search for the best places to stop off and grab a bite to eat. We love places with character (which seem to be common on backcountry motorcycle trips).
2 meals per day are included with each tour.
Alcohol is not included with the cost of any ride. Feel free to enjoy a cold one at the end of the day. However, consuming alcohol before the day is complete, is not allowed.
ADVENTURE MOTORCYCLE TOURS FAQS
What is a guided motorcycle adventure?
For starters, our guided tours have a rider leader and a support vehicle that shuttles your belongings along the way.
Typically, these rides include lodging, meals, gas, etc.
What is a self-guided motorcycle adventure?
New for 2020!
A self-guided ride is one you can take on your own or with your riding companions.
We supply the bikes, the routes and book accommodations (if needed).
Do you camp on rides?
Bend Motorcycle Adventures does not offer guided adv tours with camping. Our guests enjoy unique lodging accommodations every night.
Can I bring my tent and camp to save money?
Imagine riding over 100 miles in the pouring rain.
Now imagine temperatures in the low forties and wet gear.
Finally, imagine setting-up your tent at the end of this day.
Do I need an adv bike or will a dual sport do?
These rides are geared toward adventure and dual sport motorcycles alike. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you ride (for the most part).
However, your bike will need to be street-legal and well-maintained.
Do you offer bike rentals?
Yes.
At this time, we have KTM 250, 350 and 500 dual sport models available for rent.
Book one of these machines for your adventure & the rate is $150-200 per day.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
Yes.
Gear is a very personal thing and our clients are a diverse bunch. We are more than happy to advise you on gear choices but do not supply any.
Are a minimum number of riders needed for a tour?
Yes.
Ideally, all motorcycle adventure tours will have 6-10 guests from all corners of the globe.
Why do we shoot for this number? It helps to offset the cost of running tours.
Hypothetically speaking, if only 3 riders register for the Socal BDR in January, we will not host this ride.
